For everyone interested in operations, and/or (model) railroad signalling to American Prototypes, one of our members from the Thamesiders group, Paul Harman, has agreed to hold a clinic on the subject. This promises to be an excellent clinic and thanks go to Paul for sharing his 'Know How'.
Although predominantly a member only event, non members can attend provided their attendance is to asses if they wish to join the NMRABR , and are seriously considering doing so.
Details can be found in the flyer members can download here: Signalling the North American Way
For everyone else, details are below:
Signalling the North American Way
8 p.m. Wednesday 20 July, Sompting Village Hall, West Sussex
As part of NMRA British Region sharing know-how, Thamesider’s member,
Paul Harman has agreed to present a clinic on North American signalling at
South Shore’s meeting place in Sompting, West Sussex (see location details
NMRA members who attended the Derby Convention will have seen Paul’s stand
which showed models of different North American prototype signals and how
these can be incorporated into a layout. It is now coming to the South Shore!
Paul said “The key thrust of my presentation will be on how to add prototype
North American signalling to a layout and the products that are available to
make it easy (especially NMRA DCC extended accessory/signal protocol and
JMRI). I will also have an example of how RC servos make for lower cost turnout
In addition to the clinic, South Shore will be showing their new, under
construction, N scale layout Goose Island plus their On30 layout Perfection
which is nearing completion. This may be an opportunity for NMRA Exhibition
Managers to view the layouts before they go out on the exhibition circuit
Light refreshments (tea, coffee, squash and biscuits) will be available. There is
limited parking at the hall but there is on street parking nearby. Please be quiet
and considerate of the neighbours when arriving and leaving.
This event is open to all NMRA members.
