About 10 years ago I purchased a Rapido Steam Generator Car but it has never worked properly in that no steam was being generated. Having tried once to solve the problem, I couldn't even get the body off, I gave up. Recently however in a frenzy to complete various outstanding projects, I decided to try again.
With the help of fellow NMRA member Mick Moignard we got the body off and the problem was rapidly identified as a disconnected wire. Connect up and everything worked as it should.
Being a DCC user I asked Mick if he could install a DCC decoder instead of the microswitches. He successfully installed a TCS decoder and the result is here:-
Thanks to Mick all is good.
