RPM table at the Convention .... models wanted

Post by Franklinsburg » Wed Sep 04, 2013 12:44 pm

Hello Boys,
The holidays are over, the brats are back at school and the nights are putting in. Exhibition season is upon us again and the NMRABR Convention is looming on the not-so-distant horizon.
I've been asked to ' look after ' the Railroad Prototype Modelling table again and am thus making a request for your models, please. All you have to bear in mind is that they have to be of a genuine railroad prototype ....... locos, rolling stock, buildings, structures, whatever ...... just as long as it represents an actual artifact connected with a particular railroad that exists or once existed. Dust off an old model if you haven't got anything recent. Along with a small written description of what it is and who built it etc. which will help people understand the display.
Last year's display was extremely sparse to the point of embarrassment, so let's try and do better this time. RPM is the perfect way to show off your models without all the unfortunate human traits associated with competition and the desire to 'beat' others.
Regards,
John H. Wright

John

If (big IF) my employment situation improves ahead of the convention I'll bring a few bits for the Saturday

To everyone else we will be having an RPM display at the forthcoming Seaboard Southern US show (see Roundhouse / our website for details) on Sept 21st so please feel free to bring along your models for display and discussion.

Cheers

Dan

Reminder: Convention RPM display

Hello Boys,
Not long now to the Convention so I'm sending out a reminder to those who are considering showing models on the RPM display.

And if you need a bit of inspiration to nudge you along, John Golden has just posted his pictures of the St. Louis RPM meeting:

Modellers displaying their craft without that pernicious wish to beat others.

How did it go? Was there a lot of interest? Did anyone take gazillions of pics? :)
