That's a beautiful steamer! I have to say that 'Mikes' are one of my favourite steam era locomotives. I particularly like all the detail on the outside of the boiler etc.

Yes similar as what happened in Germany too. most steamers there had everything exposed. The few streamliners there also soon lost some of their streamlining for similar reasons. The dutch railways were a bit 'in the middle', many UK designed/inspired locos, but with some practicalities of german designs thrown in, but was also very quick to dispose of steam all together, partly accelerated by the war, when lots of equipment was looted, destroyed etc, so they had to start over. Steam was gone by 1958.
