Re: Help!!!! - Bachmann decoders

On one of my Bachmann Spectrum locos there was a jumper that had to be moved or removed between DC operation and DCC operation. It's not something like that, is it?

You were the one who chose not to go when you had the opportunity.

Re: Western Union - March 2013

Depends which era and area you're trying to make prototypical. Some territory is dark, so block detection is very not prototypical.

I this particular scenario it would have to be two, else you're relying on the crew to walk back off the hill to get the rescue loco's!
They could have had one driver and taken the other crew along for the ride to take the helpers back again.

Re: Stalled train

Did you consist all four engines for the trip up the hill, or run them on two throttles?

What did they do on the prototype? One driver or two?

Re: Thamesiders Modular Trial Run for Ally Pally

Hi Dan.

I reckon I'll be there all day both days, so let me know when you need me and I'll do time on the NMRA BR stand as well. Is Patrick organising this one?

One day I'll get down to one of your meets and play if I'm allowed. Just to stand back and watch will be a great pleasure.

Re: Thamesiders Modular Trial Run for Ally Pally

Looks great. I think I'll have to come along. Maybe help on the NMRA BR stand one day (it is going to be there, isn't it?) and watch Thamesiders on the other. What I want to know is, will the drum kit be there?

Re: Model Railroader - March 2013

Yes, I worked that out. I was toying with the idea that after a few complaints they might have realised that the whole batch was faulty and sent out a new lot unprompted. Anyway I've done it now and I'm waiting to see what happens.

Mine's got the missing and duplicate pages too. Do we have to notify them separately? I suppose we do.

Re: The Joy of (Train) Sets - BBC4

Anyone got any ideas how we can help them Share Know-How Brighton Modelworld has an area set aside for kids to build simple models. Couldn't we do something similar? Running Thomas the Tank engine only goes so far. How about a simple plastic kit? Even if as NMRA BR we have to commission something? ...

Re: Credit crunch railroading...

I feel a lot of this is due to the fairly large proportion of "modellers" these days who are not modellers. They are "take it out of the box and run it till it is time to go home-ers." I think you exaggerated a lot. I have to confess I'm one of those. My interest is in operation...
