I've made a couple of enclosures for speakers to fit above the rear truck in the body,one of which is approx twice the depth, in theory it will increase the bass response. 148 has built-in 'whisker' centering springs whilst the 5 has a separate phosphor bronze centering spring. The 148 is probably the easiest option.

I do think with something like a bespoke training layout, funding it is maybe the easy bit.
