I live in Ipswich and a trek to Derby, even for a single day visit, will require at least one overnight stay so, given that I use a wheelchair for these things, it is not a trivial activity. The Black Diamonds web site hasn't changed since I last asked and is showing just three layo...

2017 Convention
Are there any more details available than that on the Black Diamonds web site as the content there seems a bit sparse.

Freight Car Routing -My University project moves on
I am busy working away on the project. Although it is, supposedly, a software project, the University sees it as a project report. I am expecting to have a working prototype to accord to the the original design once the course ends but the University deliverable is a 10,000 word report. To help me d...

Re: Working on the Sunset and North Eastern - the Foam core goes down
I keep my blog more up to date. Have a look at:
http://www.gmrblog.co.uk
I get my foam board from the local Hobbycraft where they, currently, have a deal of 4 A0 sheets for £10.00.

Working on the Sunset and North Eastern - the Foam core goes down
I have missed posting the story here - for the parts you have missed, go to http://www.gmrblog.co.uk I have now laid out all of the foam core. It all fits very nicely and very tightly. It is 80mm high to accommodate the DCC Concepts point motors. Here is a video of the layout as it stands. I hope th...

Can you help with my University Course - Android/iOS Scale Conversion App?
Hi there. It's me again looking for help with my Open University course. This time it is part of the course that I am doing called - "Web, Cloud and Mobile Technologies"! As part of my last assignment (the mobile part - or Cell phone to the US), I have to propose a new app. The idea is tha...

Re: Assistance with an Open University Project
Do you mean UML? Partially. However, I use an iteration process with a working prototype at every step. I also test at every step so the prototype always runs as expected. There will be three iterations of the system building up to the final 10,000 report. The module does not require that the system...

NMRA Track Gauge - where can I buy one?
Is there anywhere I can buy one that doesn't involve £30 on EBay?

Assistance with an Open University Project
Hi there. I am currently completing the last couple of course for my OU Hons degree in Computing. The main one of these is the TM470 Computing and IT Project. For this, I have to develop a project that incorporates much of what I have learned at the OU. Background: I am 72 years of age and started m...
