Re: Programming problem - Powercab

If NCE is like Lenz the command station keeps a record of which addresses are in a consist and only sends the speed commands to the consist number, so until you clear the consist from the command station it would not send commands to the loco number. At least the problem has been cured. Indeed it h...

Re: Programming problem - Powercab

Interesting! I reset CV17 to 0 and it had no effect. I then pressed ‘Clear’ consist and entered the consist number and pressed ‘enter' and tried again. Sorted, they both now work so thank you again Mike for pointing me in the right direction.

Re: Programming problem - Powercab

Thank you Mike. Yes I have always used the Powercab and I did so when I installed these decoders in the SD40T-2, where they were reprogrammed from an earlier loco! Now that is something I hadn’t thought of and indeed both decoders were in a consist so I will look into that and check CV17 and reset i...

Programming problem - Powercab

I have a problem with my Powercab/Decoder programming and I cannot get to the bottom of it. The decoder in question is a TCS T4X and I am using it in an Athearn SD40T-2 where it is working fine with excellent slow speed and control. I removed it and put it in an Athearn SD40-2 and proceeded to repro...

Have you re-gauged a Bachmann 0n30 loco to 0n3?

I have been told that the Bachmann 0n30 2-8-0 and 4-6-0s aren’t difficult to re-gauge to 0n3 but the person who told me is not available to question at present. I would like to have a go myself so has anyone here re-gauged one and how did you go about it.

Thanks

Balboa "Master Series" brass question.

Can someone tell me about something about Balboa "Master Series" brass please. I am thinking in particular of their On3 DRGW C19 2-8-0. There is one on ebay which has been converted to DCC with Tsunami sound, and the seller says that “ It is a superb runner and sounds great ” but, as I am ...

Re: Track gauges for 0n3

Hi Rai,

Thank you and I don't know why I didn't think that there might be an NMRA On3 gauge!

Track gauges for 0n3

I would like to build my own track and turnouts in 0n3 so I wonder if someone could please tell me where I can get the appropriate track gauges.

Thank you.

Re: Which decoder for Bachmann 0n30 2-Truck Shay

I found a spare TCS T1 and it runs beautifully with that. However I only have a short harness hence I cannot tuck it away so it looks a little odd with a decoder on the footplate! I have ordered a long harness and with that I should be able to turn it back on itself and that should do the trick. Whe...

Re: Which decoder for Bachmann 0n30 2-Truck Shay

Thank you Brian and yes you are right, I don't want sound. I agree with your comment re Lenz but the reason I ask is because there doesn't appear to be much room in this particular loco and I wondered what decoder others had managed to squeeze in.

Which decoder for Bachmann 0n30 2-Truck Shay

Can someone please recommend a decoder that will fit the Bachmann 0n30 2 Truck Shay? All I want is good motor control plus the light function so I don’t require anything sophisticated.

Thank you.

Re: On30 Track - PECO or Micro Engineering?

Thank you for that Jim and what I will probably do at first is use Peco Code 83 HO track just to get the feel of things in this scale/gauge before building something more realistic later on. Now, if it’s not too much of an imposition, could I ask you where you get your LITco code 83 point kits and o...
