Locomotion: Dan Snow's History of Railways

Post by warbonnetuk »

All

Did anyone catch the first episode of this BBC2 series and if so is it worth a watch from a industrial / social historial perspective rather than as a rail enthusiast

Cheers

I think it was worth it, it works best from that kind of outlook, definately not 'railfan watching'. ;)

(Although the GP-TRAMM engaged in electrification work in the background at one point was quite nice.)

I thought the second episode was somewhat better than the first with some fascinating insights.

I I was very taken with the quote from Wordsworth that this country was 'an asylum for railway lunatics'!
