Mining YouTube gold

Post by Gloriousnse »

Stumbled across this one on YouTube yesterday, a cab ride across the Alleghenies on an Amtrak F40PH from back in 1985 - quality not great (80s VHS!) but the content easily makes up for it - some great railroading!

So - what other YouTube prototype railroading gems are there out there, please share...

I quite like this clip, where plenty of SP power, get's the wrong orders and after wrongly backing up comes running back and shows some amazing acceleration, Tunnel motors showing off.
There's a prototype for everything

Something a little more modern - Shot from the rear window of Amtrak's City of New Orleans, we traverse Jackson MS in parralel with a coal train - nice cameo appearance from a trackmobile which gets out onto the main presumably to help with the MOW works going on near the end, and a really nice motive power combo from CN on the coal train...
(Hi Def too so looks great full screen if you have the internet connection to support it)
