Modelling Query - architectural practice

Post by antonyjq » Mon Jul 29, 2013 9:16 am

Bit of an obscure one but...
Have started building some structures for my HO modules set in the 1970s, PNW.
Query concerns the type of roof coverings on flat roofs on concrete framed warehouses.
Does anybody know the types of covering used (mineral felt, limestone chippings, paint on concrete, asphalt, bare concrete' etc.) and also what material the flashings were made out of in the seventies?
It's pretty critical as we see more of the roofs on our structures than any other part but they are so rarely photographed.
I know about modern buildings but don't have a clue what was being used in the 50's, 60's, 70's.
Over here it would have been asphalt, green mineral and / or limestone with lead / green mineral flashings.
Thanks
Ant

Ant - I don't know the answer, but would looking at Bing overheads help to make a 'guesstimate'?
