Couple of weeks back there was a post ref a new mechanism that Kato was developing, and that we'd see it under a new US loco soon. Well here's the announcement...

Fantastic
It won't be long until others are going to pick this up. What surprises me is that a version with a Tsunami decoder, are a bit more expensive than an ESU decoder. I know which one I would pick.

Definitely Loksound! Better motor control, reprogrammable, and will be a full decoder, some of the OEM Tsunami's are "cut down" versions.
Loksound USA did say they would be in more RTR locos, Bowser is another.

Indeed, ESU is definitely making inroads in the US market. They also ship in Atlas DCC+sound loco's.
