Bachmann RF16 conversion to Sound

Post by pitmilly » Wed Jun 15, 2016 9:20 pm

Has anyone attempted or have any knowledge on the replacement of the existing Bachmann DCC motion/lighting decoder with a suitable sound decoder.

I am proposing to use a Tsunami TSU 1000 (their Cat No 827113 is pre-loaded with Baldwin 806a sound) which entails disconnecting the existing and hard wiring the new unit in place. Have studied the guidance sheets issued by another DCC supplier for hard wiring a replacement motion decoder and it doesn't appear unduly daunting, nevertheless if anyone has any information or views on the exercise, please share them.

Shouldn't be any particular problem in hard-wiring a sound decoder in there. Here's one that somebody did earlier:
