Heljan 89011 Turntable problem

Post by mec_alf »

Could this be the first actual query in the Analogue wiring section?

My 89011 turntable has no rotational power; locos run across the track happily but the unit will not rotate. It's been out of service for several years but will not rotate at all. The motor runs when straight DC power is applied to its terminals and all contacts are clean. Comparison testing on another turntable well is shown below:

Other Turntable/Well/Controller - Power and POS leds come on, turntable zeros.
My Turntable/Other Well/Other Contoller - Power led comes on, turntable does not move.
My Turntable/Well/Controller - Power led comes on, turntable does not move.

I do not want to spend £200 on a replacement turntable so this is a cry for help.

After much soul-searching, testing, conversation with Heljan, and no small amount of wallet-searching I've now replaced the turntable with the 89121. Heljan have no spares for the 89011.
