No space for a layout??

Working from a prototype location or trying to fit a specific space? Everyone loves a good trackplan...

No space for a layout??

Post by 130344 » Sat Dec 01, 2012 6:17 pm

Just been to Wakefield MR Exhibition and have seen two things I've never seen before.
The first removes the last excuse you've ever had to say you haven't got room for a layout.
Check out this video:
The view of the (Dutch) layout you get is pretty much its full extent.
So where do the trains on the high-level double-track bridge come from and go to?
They go behind the trees and then turn through 180º VERTICALLY to run upside-down, and can also be stopped upside-down to be held in "staging".
The locos and wagons have brackets underneath that are connected to an endless loop of transparent tape to which they're attached with high-strength glue.

While you're looking at that, check out also the layout owner's website, where the pedalling cyclist is illustrated and can be purchased:

Amazing ingenuity.

I would have liked to see how they did that with the trains, but that Bicycle is great, would love that on my module, but the bicycle is too dutch in style, a mountain bike or so would work better. Great stuff though.
