Re: Build a structure - Kathy Millatt - Treadwell and Ware
Well, I did the one thing you hate doing with a hydrocal kit, I dropped a piece! All is not lost as they glue back together quite easily with hardly a joint. Not my first accident! I started on Friday by spraying the prepared castings with Halfords grey primer. http://www.kathymillatt.co.uk/blog/wp-...

Re: Build a structure - Kathy Millatt - Treadwell and Ware
In a fit of enthusiasm on Monday night, I got going on my structure. The first stage to any big South River kit is preparing the castings. They are always excellent quality so a light sanding on the back and sides is enough. I write the part number on the back so I can tell which is which when gluin...

Build a structure - Kathy Millatt - Treadwell and Ware
Well, I haven't modelled anything serious since my last AP stuff in April so this is just the kick up the back side that I need. I have decided to do one of the dioramas that will slot into my layout. My layout is in my loft and to leverage more space, a friend suggested that I build multiple dioram...

Help needed - Branchline figures
Hi all
One of my American friends is looking for any help with Branchline figures. Do they still exist?
Thanks
Kathy

What was your early inspiration?
I started modelling with my Dad's train set when I was younger and I remember he had a couple of Railway Modellers. One included a slate mine and the other a pool of water with a rusty wheel in it. They were very inspirational at the time so recently I found the slate mine and bought a copy of the m...

Re: PanPastel
I have been tempted to try Pan Pastels after seeing them used in Modelling with the Masters over styrene to recreate weathered wood. They looked excellent. The price is a bit high though so I’ve been putting it off. On Saturday, I went to a Craft Show with my Mum and one stand had a sale price of £4...

Re: Cleveland Convention 2014
Thanks Brian
I have never eaten so much or spent so much money on food! I was glad to get back to the UK for reasonable sized portions and less salt.
I do love American food but I'm glad I don't live there or I would be hippo sized!

Cleveland Convention 2014
I realise that I posted in my blog and Facebook about my trip to Portland, Maine and then on to Cleveland for the National Convention but did not add anything in here. The first few days were a restful trip with 3 train trips in as many days but the Convention was a whirlwind. Being a Director fills...

Re: On30 Modular Standard
Koos I did not adopt the German Fremo On30 standard as it did not have centred track which seems to me to negate the advantages of Fremo. Other than that, the boards are a little deeper to allow for tortoise motors or other low hanging switch motors and the fascia colour which I set as black rather ...

Re: On30 Modular Standard
Hi All
I was just asked for our FremOn30 standards so thought I had better post the link here.
I have no idea how to load a file so the standards are on my website: http://www.kathymillatt.co.uk/Projects/ ... _Final.pdf
Regards

Re: Modules v Boards
Thanks all A lot of food for thought. Mike said that a track an might help so my original plan is on my website here: http://www.kathymillatt.co.uk/FremOn30_2.htm It's quite complicated and does end up with the outer tracks ending at a baseboard edge at either end with no corresponding tracks on the...
