Re: Southern Pacific GP9R
Thanks Dean, no limits on the entries Dean, so post away if you have more :-) The painting was done largely with airbrush. Primer was applied straight out of the rattle can, as was the clear coat, prior to decals to give a smooth surface to apply them too. The handrails were done by brush painting. ...

Southern Pacific GP9R
I recently completed a small kitbashing / detailing project over the Christmas period. This project distracted me from the Winter Challenge, of working on my layout, but hope now that I finished this one, to continue on that shortly. More track needs to be ordered before I can do so however, anyhow,...

Thanks Neil.
I'll certainly make use of these. Those TVNAM video's are good to show one of the hobby's aspect, getting together with others and enjoy model railroading/ operating etc etc.

Re: Winter Challenge 2016 Koos Fockens work on the layout
Here is the humble start of the project. Working from right to left, I've installed the first two turnouts. I have left the original foam boards in place. I am using small pieces of 5mm plyboard inserted under the turnouts to which (Tortoise) motors are fitted, which have been recessed in cutouts in...

Hi Peter,
good points and questions that the AP chair can raise with national. The rules were partly written in a pre-internet time. A lot of work is now done based on forums/ websites and other 'electronic' media in support of the NMRA and the hobby in general.
Keith Web is your man.

Winter Challenge 2016 Koos Fockens work on the layout
I have several projects going on, but by doing that the layout that I'm hoping to construct is being neglected. Last year, I tore up part of the layout because I wasn't happy with it's operational qualities and it had some reliability issues too. Then on top of that, circumstances surrounding my job...
