Re: My First Layout - N Gauge Denesport & Lesley Falls
Hi Mike, That's thinking outside the box if you pardon the pun!! - never thought of adding a spacer to help form the box!! Your a far braver man than I re placing the point ends across joints - I worked hard to make sure the key point ends were both away from the board joint and the cross members (j...

Re: Dean Halls Challenge 2015 N Gauge Buildings
They are super buildings and once i get my flight legs back (DVT!!!) New England is definitely on the places to go list. Peter, thanks for the tips re the building materials. Another attempt on Wed saw an improvement on overall shape although I think that it still needs a slight increase in length (...

Re: Challenge 2015 - Peter Bowen - HO Roundhouse
Hi Peter, The weathering of the floor looks really good, our garage floor looks something very similar!! I guess the techniques are the same no matter what the scale but I guess the larger the scale the better the opportunity to make it look like the real thing - any pointers for a n gauge man and a...

Re: My First Layout - N Gauge Denesport & Lesley Falls
Hi Mike, Nice idea for joining the boards, thank you - I also see from your pic that you have a section which swings over on top for transport? If there's one thing I have learned to date is that there are so many ways of doing things but each seems to have a compromise to go with it! I would have l...

Good Evening, Just to show I haven't forgotten this challenge please see below the 1st (very crude) mockup of the Drive In cabin of which I need about 6 or 7 to fill a space on the proposed layout. https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5713/23587383336_4cdbcfb6e9_c.jpg Drive In cabin Mk1 by Dean Halls , on...

Re: My First Layout - N Gauge Denesport & Lesley Falls
Good evening, And a nice drink it was :D As promised a very quickly drawn layout using one of the many on line available track planning tools - it was only the demo version hence the limited plan. I have found that "playing" with the actual turnouts onto a solid surface was a really enjoya...

Re: Challenge 2015
Hi Koos,
Took the plunge and tried to post but not sure what went wrong (or I did or didn't do) but it didn't work out - you will see a post but there's nothing there when you try to open it and it seems to have an odd date (1970) attached. Any thoughts?
Regards

Hi everyone, as a "newbie" and with an interest in participating rather than just planning can someone advise on the protocol for entering the winter challenge please?
