Re: RDC (P1K) Sound

Sorry, don't know your name? I cut away some of the seating to, as Brian suggests, accomodate as large a speaker as possible, and drilled through the (thick) chassis as per my video. A rectangular, fully enclosed 58mm x 22mm, 8 ohm bass enhanced speaker will do the job nicely and doesn't really noti...

Re: RDC (P1K) Sound

Just resurrecting this thread having fitted a QSI Titan RDC decoder (plus Pyle lights) in my P1K CP RDC prior to Xmas, and then working out how to edit the subsequent video using newly acquired Sony Movie Studio Platinum software... Apologies for the wobbly/focus issues at times - I managed to forge...

Re: Western Union - 15 December 2012

Hi Brian - thanks for the links - very interesting. It's also reminded me that I need to do a video of my RDC that I recently equipped with a QSI sound decoder (rather than Digitrax). Without wishing to hi-jack your thread, can you tell me what software you use to produce the final 'cut' of your vid...

Re: Wooden laser-cut Depot

Excellent work Brian - expect you are very pleased with the result; I certainly was after I had recently put together the smaller American Model Builders Standard Depot, that had also been gathering dust for a while. Being my first wooden laser cut kit meant initially progress was slow whilst workin...

Nice photos Brian...

Impressive modelling by Rob Mallett as well - especially like the boarded-up depot, and also the tyre tracks in the second photo.

PanPastel

Came across PanPastel weathering powders when checking out Model Railway News online - wondering if anyone has used them?

They also have a short demo on YouTube:

Nasty - but nothing a drop (or two) of super glue can't fix! (copying the best of modelling traditions... :D )

Re: BN SD9

Hi Brian - nice little project..

Appreciate it's a quick and dirty upgrade but just interested to know whether you stripped the original paint first or just covered it with the grey as a quick initial fix prior to the main coat?

Re: DVD - Soldier Summit Reflections

Hi Koos,

No problem getting hold of the DVD from the USA, it's published by Charles Smiley - http://www.cspmovies.com/
and available from a number of outlets as well as direct.

Trouble is, I have been looking at his web site - think I will need to be very restrained!

Regards,

DVD - Soldier Summit Reflections

Before I place an order across the pond, having just watched a short YouTube clip that rather whetted my appetite, was wondering if anyone knows of a source in the UK re: Soldier Summit Reflections - DVD by Charle Smiley (D-116) Tried the usual outlets (that I'm aware of, incl SPV) but non available...

Ha - yes hadn't thought of that..! Here is a shot of the well manicured area in front of the depot. http://johnpitty.smugmug.com/NorthAmericanRailroads/Vancouver-Island/i-rQtGHsF/0/L/NMRABR%20Kegworth2012-2-L.jpg And a shot of the depot looking back into the 'wilderness' re the first photo of the RD...

Nice photos Mike - thanks for sharing. I'll send you my email via PM - many thanks in advance.. Here are a couple on Vancouver Island, Qualicum Station, June 2006. Expect will be told off by Martyn though for placing these in the wrong area of the forum! http://johnpitty.smugmug.com/NorthAmericanRai...
